Neurological Physiotherapy
The neurological physiotherapist, with the skills in understanding the mechanisms of normal movement, looks at mobility, function and quality of life.
At your first appointment at Unley Physiotherapy the physiotherapist will look at the whole person, examining their ease of movement; for example: sitting up from lying, getting out of a chair, walking. The quality of the movements performed may require new and different motion possibilities and balance awareness to allow freedom to shift easily from one position to another, or to use the limbs accurately and appropriately.
The areas limiting movement may be due to neurological problems related to damage of disease or the brain, spinal cord or nerve/muscle connection or specifically due to stiff joints, tightness of muscles or habitual patterns of moving. Unley Physiotherapy offers advice, management, exercise programmes and problem solving with the patient and family too, if required.
We provide a service of excellence using experience and skills acquired over many years. Our neurological physiotherapists understand that people with a neurological condition not only need to get the best out of their disability, but the best possible learning and caring environment is need for that to occur.
